Water is Water by Miranda Paul - this one is about the water cycle but also illustrates the seasons beautifully. The pictures tell a sweet story of a sister and brother through the year, exploring their pond and yard and playing very heartily and wholesomely with friends.

Oh, yes - for "round the year" book is "A Time to Keep" by Tasha Tudor. (I am a passionate fan of Tasha Tudor - she is my favorite picture book author/artist.) I also second the suggestion for "The Year at Maple Hill Farm." :)
