Excellent choice. We own quite a few but my kids haven't gotten into them yet. Anyone who loves this author would enjoy Stephen Biesty as well, but he's harder to find affordably.
Disrespect for MOTEL OF THE MYSTERIES? I *loved* that book. It's always fun for kids to be smarter/have knowledge adults lack, and it prompts you to look around your world for what can be misread.
We ordered the book of hours calendar book just in time to get it before a week of snowed out school, so thank you!
The idea is clever, and I wanted to like the book, but it felt too long. I put it in the same category as some nonfiction books (not yours!) that were really interesting when they started as articles, deserved to be expanded further, but just dragged and became repetitious as full-length books.
Loved Macaulay as a kid, and have bought a few of his books that I never owned but got from the library.
I'm a electric utility designer and I've used Underground to explain things to non-technical co-workers--project managers and customer service type of people
For a professional in the field to recommend these books is a high honor. It makes me love David Macaulay's books all the more. Thank you for sharing that!
I absolutely loved these as a child.

Thank you! This is excellent inspiration for my little builder with an upcoming birthday!!
