Be still, my heart! A guide to Tolkien editions!!!

This is just what I need. I'm going to be back to go over this post with a fine-tooth comb - I need to purchase some Tolkien for our kiddos. (Our editions are not good, are super-old, and are falling to pieces.)

I can't wait to read the book on Tolkien by Holly Ordway. Some years ago I read her book, "Not God's Type," and it was amazing. I can't wait to read more by her.

In the traditional church calendar, March 25th is also the feast of the Annunciation. Such good stuff.

Love all that you have to say here!!

Love this. I was literally this week looking to buy an illustrated set of the series (the one I currently have has tiny print and no pictures) in hopes of reading it to my 9-year-old son this summer. I'd love to have Tolkien's own artwork in it but need portable books for travel. So maybe we'll go for the Alan Lee ones.

Have you tried The Hobbit illustrated by Jemima Catlin? We loved it and have loaned it out to several friends.
